Postcard beach in Huan Hin and a nasty fact

I have not too much to say about Huan Hin. It is a small city in Thailand with a nice beach and I spent the time there with really great people. I guess that is why the city made it to my blog. Again, the people you are with decide a great deal about how positive your experience will be in a place. We had a really relaxed and good time.

IMAG0701_NoB The only thing I really didn’t like about Huan hin and the beach were the horses. Seriously. I hated it. Not the horses themselves of course, but the fact that some “lazy-ass-looking-for-entertainment-because-they-are-too-inconsiderate” tourists were riding those horsies during the hottest time of the day. You must imagine, during lunchtime it is almost unbearably hot. The temperature climbs up to 36 degrees. It was almost cruel to see the horses ride along the beach supposedly so romantic, but in real totally disturbing. On top of it, I haven’t seen a single horse getting water. Also, when the owners of the horses pause and wait for more “lazy-ass-(…)-tourists” sometimes the horses would stand in the sun.

One time I was super pissed off about this and walked towards one of the owners who welcomed me with a smile and a body gesture leading to the poor horse. I said, “I don’t want to ride it, I just want you to place the horse in the shadow.” At least he did that.

On top of that I saw one of the owners putting the excrements of one of his horse in a plastic bag. I was like “Hey, he is cleaning the beach. How considerate.” Only to realise that he in fact left the excrements in the plastic bag lying on the beach. Damn, I got mad again. I approached that guy and asked him to clean his sh*t. Sorry folks! I know this article might makes me look like a huge pain in the ass, but seriously, all I ask for is respect towards your next individuals, including animals and environment. I mean taking care of the horse that is basically responsible for your income and on top does all the work for you, is not too much to ask, is it?

Anyhow, besides this Huan Hin is a nice small city. But if you don’t have much time in Thailand, you can skip that. Also for the beach you have to be careful. There are a lot of stones in the water! This can make the experience less convenient 😉

Much love,

Eireeen
